If anyone has done anything online, whether shopping for the coolest new photography gear, or ran their own business online, website design and usability is an ongoing crisis. Working on a website is a never ending process…literally. When it comes to designing a photography website, the look and feel may be even more important because, well, it’s all about the photo…right?
Yes and no. Obviously the main focal point of an online photo gallery or website should be the images, but personally I feel the story behind the photo can be just as, if not in some cases more, important as the actual image. Which is why I’ve just republished this photo blog with a slightly new look. I’m removing some of the fluff in an effort to focus on the images and the little amount of text that is important. Hopefully you will like what you see, but if not, please let me know by either emailing me or posting a comment!
I’ve even begun thinking about ditching Typepad altogether and going with WordPress, because in my opinion Typepad can not even come close to the huge array of WordPress designs.
One cool new feature I am adding to my photo blog is the inclusion of RSS feeds for such photography websites as DPreview.com and others. So, subscribe to my blog and not only will you find some pretty unique images, but you’ll also be able to read what others in the world of photography are saying.
