Environmental Photography Invitational
Every now and then I have the gumption to enter a couple images into a random photography contest. The other day I entered three images into the Environmental Photography Invitational, which is sponsored by many of the leading companies in the industry. The categories entered were: "flora", "environment at risk" and "man and the environment".
The mission of the contest is:
The Environmental Photography Invitational is an event for the
advancement of photography as a unique medium capable of bringing
awareness and preservation to our environment through art.
Part of my motivation in sharing the photos I take as I travel around the northwest and beyond is a huge desire to make people stop and think, if only for one second, about their natural surroundings. You don’t need to travel to a national park to experience the intricacies of nature; sometimes it can be found right out your back door.
