It’s December 1st…are you ready for the holidays?
I’m changing the way I do things…for a very short time. Browse through ANY of my landscape and adventure photographs and if you find one you want a print of (canvas included), email me what you are willing to pay for it, along with the size you are [...]

The first ski tour of the year is always filled with a bit of anxiety. Like any other adventure, you’re constantly doing a mental checklist of gear on the drive, despite making the effort beforehand (even the night before!) that everything you need is in good working condition and ready to go. I laid all [...]
There’s something special about black and white photographs. This one is no exception. Taken on a backcountry ski tour in the Oregon Cascades, it captures the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
For a short time I am offering 12 x 24 prints for only $100. Just in time for the holidays.

It’s not snowing, yet, and this past weekend, a rare warm and sunny November weekend was enough to convince my wife and I to head south to the Oregon coast for one last surfing weekend. After getting pounded by a couple waves, I thought it better to just stick to what I do best…taking pictures [...]
I just stumbled across a photography website with some very cool examples of using motion blur in photographs. The website, dubbed, creatively, www.backcountryskiphotos.com, is something I’m working on for displaying backcountry ski photos from myself as well as others. There are also links and videos about avalanche education, stories etc. Furthermore, I’ll be offering the option to [...]
For those of you who live in the Seattle area, next Saturday, Nov 8th, is the NW Snow & Avalanche Snow Summit. The day consists of talks from various folks in the know about avalanches (Martin Volken from Pro Guiding Service for example), ski touring in the Cascades and, for all you backcountry skiers, some [...]
There are times, believe it or not, that even I crave a bit of warm, tropical sunshine. Although winter has yet to arrive here in Seattle, and I am admittedly very excited for (I hope) an epic backcountry ski season, I can’t help but stop and take a moment to revel in the past, especially [...]
I’ve pondered the idea of creating a photography book for some time now. I feel I have plenty of photos to choose from, whether it’s a selection of backcountry skiing photos, cycling or the majestic peak of Mt Rainier. My problem is what software/service I should use to create a photo book. Just recently I [...]
